well either you follow TMN's advice, which would be pretty impossible :P

or you just rent a server. http://www.verygames.net/ offer trackmania server.
those are easy to set up via a web-interface, and good way to run a tmn/tmu server without big server knowledge...

What else would you use to run a trackmania SERVER?
Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 @ 2.7GHz; 4GB RAM Corsair; Gf8800GTS; WinXPSP3; Samsung 223BW

Your PC should be no warmer after a week than it is after an hour. You can quiet easily use an old bog standard PC as a trackmania server. Just close servermania making sure you have the option to leave the server open checked.

Yep Debian (linux) + TMServer + Aseco/RASP = Massive uptimes.
If you try to run a 24/7 server under Windows you are doomed to restarts, either Windows will crash or the automatic updates will require a reboot.
Try running an old PC with Linux, I prefer Debian myself with just a command prompt, no fancy graphics.
There are plenty of remote control programs that you can run on your gaming PC to control the server, but run the server itself under linux and you should be set.
Wham! BAM! Thank you ma'am!
