Game controller feels hijacked in online gameplay

Post by 2lazeblue » 03 Mar 2010 19:11

When i am on an online game. i will hear the plugged in usb sound and unplug usb sound, during a race and after i finish a race. at first i had no idea what that was till the car would start going on its own, or in middle of race, start turning on its own and sometimes nothing, i would have to replug in controller to work. Note* This just started to happen, never happened before.
Is this a bug or a hijack. i also noticed when i replugged controller in the car turned better and was going at a normal speed.

Sounds like the USB connector is going iffy - either on the controller or the socket you plug it in to. The latter is easy to check - try a different socket.
Cheers!

If you are playing with a logitech dual action, then it's simply that this is broken. Had over a 3 years about 6-7 times the dual action and all off them had the same error you are describing. So i sent them back and they gave me a heal one.

haha i remember that as well with my logitech rumble pad.
i was seriously thinking of someone having took over my pad and willfully steering my car into the rails so i lose the race ^^

FWIW, I haven't found a PC-controller yet that lasts too long. I've had sidewinders, logitechs, saiteks, belkin (lasted the longest -- about a year), and various minor brands. The construction just isn't too solid in all that I've used.

Personally, I use ps2 controllers with usb adapters. They've been able to take almost a decade of abuse -- being thrown around, tripped over, being covered with various liquids and other material. The one I use for racing even has worn down thumb indentations on the dpad from frantic steering, but works as good as the day I bought it. Also, nothing beats playing 4 player mariokart with 4 ps2 controllers hooked up to a laptop, upsampling to 1920x1080 widescreen via emulator to the big 47" tv.

Also, you can get usb adapters for pretty much any type of console controller, and can use an xbox360 controller if you get the pc receiver which costs just a few bucks.
