Trackmania on Lucid bug

Post by Longi94 » 19 May 2010 16:59

Hey there,

I have successfully installed trackmania forever on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid) with wine following this tutorial: http://www.wine-reviews.net/wine-review ... -wine.html

And I get this bug:

Which is quite irritating because i cannot drive properly.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Note that the tutorial you linked to is for Ubuntu 8.04; things can change a lot in two years.

I just recently installed TMNF on Lucid, by downloading the installer from the website and running it in Wine - no configuration, no messing with DLLs, it Just Worked. You might try uninstalling TM, wiping whatever Wine customisations you put in place, then installing it again.

Looks like drivers or Settings are incorrect.
Try changing PC to PC1 or lower and the details of
the cars to lowest.

there are several complaints about this happening with pc3 shaders in the appdb for wine. It works just fine for me though. heres my setup.

Ubuntu 10.04
Playonlinux
wine version 1.1.44

I really recommend playonlinux, it makes it easier to customize wine to the needs of your specific program. and using the builtin trackmania installer it has, it will automatically download the dx9 stuff you need. The game runs very well for me with graphics settings turned up. no problems with the car. good luck.

btw, playonlinux is available in the ubuntu software center. just search for it.
