If you plan to run a server then you will need to learn how to do some of it yourself, otherwise you should just rent a server from someone who has don the hard work for you.

If you are doing some things yourself and getting stuck then you will have a better chance of getting help then if you ask someone to explain *everything* to you.

It's not "just running a server". I want learn about programming such things.

But i'll try to take a look at the things again and get some experience then.

to make Fast plugins ? then ask me more specific things, and specify what you already understood and what you did not.

No, to program a server with nice plugins. ;)

You will need to spend some time learning how to program with php first, then look at existing plugins and documentation to see how they work. Once you understand php then the existing code will make more sense.

Once you have that worked out, then any specific plugin you are trying to write you can ask questions about. This isn't a forum to help teach you php programming, there are better places to ask for help with that.

Slig, is 3.2.2w the latest official release? The first post still has 3.2.2c listed as the latest.

It is more a snapshot of my current. I wanted to do some other changes before consider it as the new official one, but you can consider to use it, it should be stable (if not then report any issues).

I did not tested myself on it plugins like gpp, mcm or autoqueue. Any issues (for things working using 3.2.2c) using them should be reported too.

I'm using 3.2.2w on 8 servers at the moment all with gpp, mcm and 3 with autoqueue and no issues that I have noticed yet.

The only thing I have noticed is dedi is still reporting my servers as being 3.2.2c

Spoke too soon...

One of my servers with Autoqueue is constantly putting up chat messages every 30 secs or so saying "Kicked idle player at 6:00 minutes"

In the FAST console I see the messages showing two players it is trying to idle kick, but they aren't even on the server. Has there been a change to how FAST handles idle players that has the AQ confused?

i see one as 3.2.2w and the others as 3.2.2c. Are you sure that you restarted Fast on all ?

Is it the server which is seen as 3.2.2w on tmstats ? i yes then you probably don't have that on other because they are not 3.2.2w ;)
Can you give me the exact message please ? And the autoqueue version ?

All the servers are 3.2.2w, 6 of them run from the same TM/FAST directory as the one that has registered itself as 'w'. and yes I did restart the server :)

The one w server is the one that was having the AQ issue, and it looks like rebooting it tonight to fix that problem also prompted Dedi to see the new version? Maybe I'll sort out another restart and see if it helps.

This is the first entry in fastlog where it started

Code: Select all

[04/19,15:54:05.54] playersPlayerDisconnect - Active=1, 1271656445544, 1271656445544
[04/19,15:54:05.54] << Player: ZX°Nighthawk (nighthawk4571,19) has disconnected! (1/12) [1516.463,1000.84]
[04/19,15:54:05.54] welcome.Event[PlayerDisconnect]('nighthawk4571')
[04/19,15:54:05.54] [AutoQueue] Kicked idle player: nighthawk4571
And the message in fastlog that keeps happening

Code: Select all

[04/21,00:18:23.26] [AutoQueue] Kicked idle player: nighthawk4571
[04/21,00:18:23.26] [AutoQueue] Kicked idle player: tarrantel
Message in Gamelog that appears in the chat window

Code: Select all

[AutoQueue] $fffKicked idle player after $0ff6:00 minutes$fff:
AutoQueue.php - 3/07/09

Code: Select all

/**

Two out of 7 of my servers are now showing as 3.2.2w. I'm just wondering, does the version get reported to the database when FAST starts up, or do only get the version when a new dedi record is sent to the database?

When you just update the files without restarting FAST, the old code is still running. PHP doesn't reload the code when you update the files, it parses the code on startup (or when you require/include them) and keeps it in memory after that.
This means that the servers running old code still report 3.2.2c, but I can't tell you when exactly.

I'm not new to computers, or FAST. The servers have all been restarted since updating, and in fact 6 of the servers use the same FAST install. the fact that only two of those servers are reporting as 3.2.2w makes me think there is more to what triggers the updte of their info in the dedi database.
