Ah, I've been posting bugs over in the ManiaPlanet forums. Wouldn't it make more sense to use that forum for TM2 stuff seeing as Fast4 only works with TM2, and that's where you get the TM2 server, and that's where all the cool TM2 players are hanging out now?

It seems that now it is possible to have a tool specific subfolder and being moderator on it. I asked for it after reading your post : if i get it then yes, it will be a better place ;)

GPP fixed, and localrecords modified too to allow simple customization of background, see their own topics ([Fast4] GPP 1.87 (2011-10-12) and [Fast4] Plugin.Localdatabasefile (2011-10-12))

You can get them on http://slig.info/fast4.0/3rd_party_plugins/ as usual

I'm having a BIG issue. There seems to be a problem happening sometimes when it tries to upload a replay (not all the time). In the Fastlog I then see what looks like the binary of the actual replay file in the log file which goes on for thousands of lines. From what I can tell it tries a couple of times to send this replay (logging in the logfile) before the next map starts, but then it seems to keep retrying. Shortly after that FAST will "lock up" and the process becomes unresponsive and the CPU is stuck running at around 50%. Manually kill the fast process and restart and all is well until it happens again about 12 hours later.

My log file is currently 500MB in size and 16million lines long, so I'm digging through it trying to find a pattern (e.g. same track, same time of day etc)

this is where it started in the log file the first time

Code: Select all

Actually, it seems to be the same track? Is it something going wrong with the replay being created for that track that FAST is having problems with?

Try with this one http://new.slig.info/fast4.0/update/fas ... 4.0.0j.zip
I don't think that it will fix the real problem (I also made a little change on Dedimania side which perhaps will fix it), but at least the log won't be flooded, and i also added few Webaccess info in log which will i hope help to understand the problem.

I did not get that problem once on TX and LSD servers, so actually i cannot really test on my side :/

It just seems to be from this one particular track that I've noticed it happening. You can download it from MX if you want to try it yourself.

I'll try your update tomorrow and see how it goes.

Ok, then it should be fixed by the changed i made on dedimania side (limitation of the request size which was to small for the replay). Btw the changes in 4.0.0j will be helpfull if some other strange case happen.

I just tested using the "i" version and it didn't crash Fast this time. I noticed you had already tested it. Luckily I was able to beat your Dedi time :)

So what is the limit for replay uploads sizes? That track was the only one I have so far that was over 500k, so I'm guessing that was the limit you had set before?
I'm updating to the "j" version now anyway and will let you know if I have any other problems.

Just out of curiosity, why are you using letters for versioning? Isn't that the whole point of "minor" verison points? e.g. 4.0.1

I'm not really good, and i made it on keyboard, on a laptop at 15fps, so it was not really difficult to beat it ^^

yes, it was 500,000 (there were no reason to receive big request previously, and i forgot that i had set a limitation of course), now it is 5,000,000. I will test lot laps on a heavy map to have real idea of the real needed max, then will double it.

I was wondering about it recently
I guess that it was at beginning for intermediate internal versions, then, once used to use it i probably just continued without good reason. I probably thought that i would set a real version number once stable, but, like in many projects the "stable" is finally just the last one without quick new one after ;)
