NYX files

Hi there!

I just installed my Onyx v3 copy.
Everything runs fine, but when I try
to add .nyx files in the modules directory
they don't show nor load in the onyx.bat
and in the Monitor.

I tried using the inirecords plugin and the
dedimania plugin...

Okay, I extracted them so that solves a big problem...
But now, Onyx doesn't connect to my custom server (not Nyx-Server) who is running at the samen computer as onyx...
Although the monitor seems to connect to it and my plugins seems to load (they were unzipped and installed + a temp folder was created) none of the plugins do show up in the list nor in the server...

To install a plugin, just drop the .module.zip in the modules directory.
Then, Onyx will detect them and unzip them automatically.

For Onyx to connect an external dedicated server, you need to 2 things:
- the external dedicated server runs on the same computer
- the external dedicated server needs to run on the same xmlrpc port as the one defined in the file (TMNyxServer/dedicated/GameData/Config/dedicated_cfg.txt)
By default, it is <xmlrpc_port>5050</xmlrpc_port>

I guess you have a problem with the 2nd criteria. take a look to your dedicated server and change it to 5050 in the dedicated_cfg.txt

Ok, I changed...
The Onyx thing detects the .nyx files now.
But they don't show op in the dos-window, nor in the monitor and ofcourse not in the server.

I'm using a modified configuration of TM USB Server.
Do I have to place Onyx in a specific folder?

And do I have to download any more modules beside the two I use; Dedimania and ini records?

There was some ModuleController who failed to load...

Yes, the module controller fails to load because it does not find the modules directory:
1/09/2008 16:36:51 SEVERE [ModuleController] (main): The module directory does not exist

1) In the bin directory, open the file onyx.properties
Ensure you have:
module.directory = ../modules

2) Ensure also you have a directory "modules" in the root of Onyx.

You also need the TM NyxServer that you can find on ModulOnyx.

If your dedicated server turns on 5050, The Nyx Server will connect it automatically, otherwise the NyxServer will create one Lan server

Okay, tnx
The first thing is already working; the modules are loading and showing up in the monitor and in the dos-window....

But still nothing in our server.
We ARE running with our xml rpc port set to 5050.

Here is the new logfile

You have a lot of :
caused by: ErrorCode: -1000 Permission denied.

I m guessing that the NyxServer is using the wrong credentials to connect your dedicated.
You should go to /modules/dedicated/GameData/Config
Edit the file dedicated_cfg.txt and set the correct credentials for SuperAdmin, Admin and User.

Another solution is to copy the dedicated_cfg.txt of your dedicated server in the directory
/modules/dedicated/GameData/Config, so you are sure to have the same exact value.

Onyx is using this file to connect an external dedicated server, if it does not find one, it runs its own.
