Problem lanching Onyx -> Searching Java ?

Post by tikiki » 01 Sep 2011 12:41

Hello everyone.

I downloaded Onyx 3.1.4 yesterday, and I tried to create my own server.
First of all, can Onyx be used on a LAN ? I don't always have internet, and I just want to play at home.

I have an other problem : I ran Onyx.bat after launching the TMNyx server in LAN mode. It says "File not found", and it creates only reg2.txt. Then it closes quickly. I think there is a problem with the bat file, but I don't know where (I think with the check of Java version).

I'm running Win7 with Java 1.6_27, and the Onyx folder is in C:\.

Thanks for your help.

(Excuse my english, please, french geek :p)

Thanks a lot, now it works (almost) correctly.

Onyx now starts, and then, when the modules are correctly loaded, it closes and starts again.
And I can't use the Onyx "menu" on the left when I play, it does nothing.

Is it because I play on LAN ? It can't display manialink ?

I send my logfile, if it can help (on Mediafire because the attachement on this forum s*cks : http://www.mediafire.com/?0zuspeu32eb3uy3)...

It seems there is a problem of connection to the dedicated.
are you sure you are really starting the dedicated in LAN? also u dont have any error dumped in the console when starting the dedicated ?

I think I did it correctly, I give my start.bat for the TMNyx dedicated server :

Code: Select all

TrackmaniaServer.exe /lan /dedicated_cfg=dedicated_cfg.txt /game_settings=MatchSettings/Nations/NationsRed.txt
My dedicated_cfg :

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

<dedicated>

If you are using an external dedicated server, you need to copy the config file dedicated_cfg.txt of the dedicated server to the directory: Onyx/modules/TMNyxServer/dedicated/GameData/Config

Onyx reads this file to connect the dedicated server.

Ok, I got it !!

I just had to copy the dedicated server in TMNyx directory to another place, and Onyx launches now correctly ! I don't get any java error while loading, and Onyx stays laucnhed.
But just some of my modules appear correctly, and I don't have the Pnyx menu. I'll try adding the modules one by one.

Thank you

I created a new server from the beginning, with only the dedicated server and Onyx, but it doesn't work too. The menu has bugs, and there is still "stack" errors in the log.
I understood there was some problems in the player logging function. is it because my client TMUF isn't connected to the net and hasn't been activated ?

I can send you my whole Onyx server : http://www.mediafire.com/?x0d06dj9e8o5mdi

I have tried your server on my machine (Windows XP). It works correctly.
What i did: i started the dedicated server in Onyx2\OnyxServer. then i started Onyx using Onyx2\bin\Onyx_32.bat.
After few minutes, i can see the message "--=== MODULE TMNyxServer STARTED ===-"

Then, i run the game and went to Party Play and could see the server.
The game menu is working fine too: I can see Help when i click on Onyx in the game.

I suggest you to stop both Onyx and the dedicated server.
Clean your onyx using the command Onyx2\bin\cleanCache.bat.
Start the dedicated server in Onyx2\OnyxServer.
Start Onyx in Onyx2\bin.
