TRACKMANIA UNITED (STANDBY: LADDER, COPPERS, OFFICIAL)

Here's the place to discuss anything related to TMF ladder ranking, special "ladder servers", rank limit rules and possible issues you might have with this system.

You finaly found the edit button. Tripple posting doesn't count to postcount.

I don't know whats funny about a torrent download. Saves bandwidth and you can pause resume download. Nice idea.

There's nothing funny, actually. I remember the torrent for the Original update being one of the few torrents to have ever maxed my bandwith out. Constantly downloading it @ 500 KB/s while sharing with others. You not very often get such speeds from direct connections-it takes huge servers (such as those of big companies) plus a dl manager.

Torrents are good. If you can't get high speeds with torrents either you:
- downloaded a bad torrent file,
- can't configure your client properly,
- are trying to download a very rare file,
- are downloading too many torrents at the same time,
- have your OS severely limiting your max simultaneous connections,
- have other p2p applications running,
- are using a poor client.
I hope I haven't missed any other key-reason.

then u make something wrong... i can DL with a speed of 1800 k/s from a single direkt link if the server is not out of bandwith...a dl manager makes it even easier... torrents are only good for illegal DL (wich i never make use from) :>

You can downlaod so fast. But there are people that do not have so a fast connection and sometimes a connection breaks or you get malformed data. And for these people torrents are very nice, because they can resume torrents without problems, there are checksums in the torrent protocol to prevent malformes data and you are independent from some slow download servers.

Agreed. In Australia it's the 16th (7:30am where I am), and I'm itching to download

Uhm, that is the official link. You can go to http://www.tm-united.com first (but it's still pretty slow), yet you'll end up at the same download link.
