TM2 News

Post by Zooz » 19 Sep 2009 18:33

Now that the game has been announced, I'm sure various gaming news websites will have articles on it. Post them here!

esportsfrance already had an article up quite soon, but it's in French:
http://www.esportsfrance.com/actualites/19408/

Good thing we have Google Translate:
http://translate.google.co.uk/translate ... n&ie=UTF-8

Basically a summary of things that have already been posted earlier today, except this, and I don't quite get it from the google translation: "the editor of blocks will be improved with two main functions, the offset circuit and the terraforming system for blocks requiring precise terraforming."
Sounds interesting but I have no clue :P

If you find anything else, please post it!

Ah true, thanks. I knew there was another one but couldn't find it. That article is nice because it shows what the emphasis was on in the announcement: the improvements for track building, and the split screen modes it seems.

track offset , i think that means you can move the entire track around, and the area sculpts around the blocks requiring precise terraforming, at least thats what I think. You had to always build the correct terrain around a complex block in tm.

oh damn, track moving. i remember having rebuilt entire tracks just to move it one or two blocks. that's such great news. :1

also, i hope they will use some split way between "always visible" and "hide too close" as i suggested them a year ago. would be such an improvement for online driving. ;)

Here's one:
http://kotaku.com/5363312/trackmania-2- ... s-festival

It's by american gaming website Kotaku (my favorite). They mention there will be local multi-player split-screen in TM2!

My initial thoughts upon hearing this news were twofold:

1) TrackMania 2?!? Do they realise they have released something like 6 or so games..?

2) United Forever was about perfect. This could not possibly be as good.

But... split screen mode will be freakin awesome. Very much looking forward to that alone :)

z'omg

I haven't played Trackmania in a while, so this has come totally out of the blue for me. o:

I've always wondered when Nadeo would make the move to shader 3 (or shader 4??) and update the graphics and physics engines. Now I can see that it's in-progress. that gives me a good feeling. :)

I HONESTLY can't wait for this. The moment the game is given an official release date I will be pre-ordering it. The moment Nadeo post a thread to ask for beta-testers, I will be all over that thread because I really can't wait to play this game :D

And only 3 environments? I'm hoping that Stadium is still there... but that new environment.... I really can't wait for the game now. T-T
