But...I thought it wasn't going to be released until 2011? Because of the confusion between the release dates of TM2 and TM-Wii....

Wow, still no official video after all this time?.

Cue a big F for Nadeo's (or Ubi's, in which case they already have plenty) marketing department.

It's Ubi. Nadeo wouldn't do this to a loyal fanbase like they have in us. That's why I hate big companies so much, especially videogame companies. They just have no clue or care to make a quality videogame--it's all about money money money...and how to make more of it as fast as possible.

There is one big difference that I see since ubisoft bought focus. I don't see any golden nugget updates from Florent anymore and the lack of video or even leaks suggests to me that there is either some really tight security or that there is little content to share. I see him, Flo, on the French forums but he has nothing much to say. I remember the United Beta test. There was a lot of info after the announcement and selection of beta testers. But there was still info coming out of Nadeo before that. Same thing happened with the Forever beta. But now..... we have got NOTHING. I Keep coming to this forum and look for something. Something new at all.
What have we got? Nothing of import except rumors of later release dates.
What do we take away from this? Why this desert of information? Do they not care for our interactive input or are they content to troll the forums for our wants? Does what we want matter anymore. I think it matters to Focus at least. Or is this just the inevitable acquisition problem.(Think of AMD and ATI where both companies suffered after the merger.)

Perhaps content creation is going slower than expected. Maybe they are just trying to create buzz and interest by withholding info so that will keep us occupied parsing the crumbs they do sprinkle. If this is their strategy then I think they need to distribute more crumbs.
Maybe everyone just got a big payday and took a vacation.

All I know is that I just want more info instead of the useless circle jerk of conjecture.

Again...Ubi can go **** themselves. They're a horrible game company that does nothing but mess up the companies that they acquire. Like, Massive Entertainment, creators of the best RTS ever, World in Conflict, were all set to make a WiC II until Ubi bought em. They canceled the plans, absorbed Massive, and have them set to work on some shitty-ass MMO....<_<

It's not Focus, it's Nadeo ;)
Perhaps there's nothing to say. The game seems to be under development and nothing more.

everything is going very well on our side

Before, I was here more often, and on the french forum, but we also were more in "continuous" development phase. You did not hear us much before the release of the first beta of TM and that is somehow the same situation. We are working on it and will talk more when closer to the beta. I am also frustrated not to do it much before, but I honnestly have a lot to do on the game itself.

We have a lot of things that are being "thinked" for the first time, and they always change a little. Communication on this type of things is always tricky. If the graphic engine is under work, you prefer not to give pictures, if the car is being changed, you prefer not to show it, if a feature is under developpement, you prefer to avoid raising the subject in case you need to postpone it after launch. etc.

we announced block import, maniascript, splitscreen and radiosity lightning. I think it is still the core of the next experience. Combined with the existing features, such as Manialink, coppers, mediatracker and others, it should feel like a more powerful system.

it is also complicated to talk about things that we do that are dedicated to long term activity and development on the game. And since we are going toward a new adventure, we have this type of things to do as well. Working on the master servers, cleaning some code etc.

all in all, the team is going very well at the moment and the project as well. We want a lot to communicate on it, but it has to be on time.

for info, a new manialink, really interesting, is coming. Stay tuned for that and its futures ;)

I guess that players can understand that graphics and car design may change before release.
For features, I understand that it could be frustrating for players to hear about something and not have it within the game.
I would be happy if you just give us a HQ version of the video you already shown.

Are you talking about a manialink page or about the manialink language ?

just a quick question:
- will the cars and tracks be compatible in both tmf and tm2?

i want to know how challenging importing models will be...

will you move away from gbx files and dds formats?

as much info as you can spare please! ;)
