yup it sure is haha, i will guess you know more about TM2 than your letting on or maybe just you know more about the time-lines of the beta testing, but what i suppose im saying is do you think that Nadeo will be heading for a demo like they did with sunrise or an all out messed up public beta like they did with united forever? or what which would you prefer? open beta or 4+ month 1 environment demo?

I don't know anything you can't find online... I can make guesses though
The late 2010 thing was in some French news article, and I assumed around 2 months for testing since that's how it was before.

I'm guessing there will be some sort of beta demo though, followed by a demo and the full game, since that's how it was with TMO and TMS as well. TMU didn't need a demo since TMN already served as one, as well as the TMO and TMS demos, but that doesn't work for TM2 I guess. And the beta demo thing is apparently a good form of testing.

Thats exactly the information i was look for and guessing at, hopefully this will put the testing stages into prospective to those who joined us in the latest stages of TMN/F and TMUF and cure the confusions of Beta testing

Haven't Nadeo released most/all of the games in April? Could it be a similar situation for TM2? Or is this too early?

TM was released in nov or dec, TMN in january, TMS around february, TMU in november I think. So that's either bad news or good news if you assume nadeo just picks a release date based on previous release dates :roflol:

I never thought about that. That's a good point. If zooz is right and Nadeo will take about 2 months testing this game, April sounds like a good estimate. IMO, late 2010 is a long time to wait anyway.

EDIT: I think what he meant is that April was the 'Average' between all the months.

Heh, I meant first release dates. I guess my memory isn't as good as I thought on TMS then. The TMS beta was in february (found a screenshot) but the release was later.

Well, unless Nadeo decided to release it earlier than End of 2010 :P

They might have shown the game but it's very early. Depending on when the game in 2010 is gonna come out it might be around 3 months before this release date if "we" are lucky. I remember that stuff with trackmania sunrise. Because it was a new game the beta period was prety extensive.

It's just a matter of how nadeo wants to deal with beta tests of this new game. There's gonna be new gameplay, so the new environments are gonna have to be playtested etc.

The pacing of the last beta was very fast though. If I remember correctly it was around 1.5 month. They had pretty much everything set for what they wanted to release.

It was probably short because Alpha had succeeded very well?

when is the next E3? let me look :D E3 2010 will be held June 15-17 and will again be held in the Los Angeles Convention Centre...... so i think Nadeo might want to show it off some more before its release, so maybe a few month after.... August - September?? i don't know im just stabbing in the dark to be honest but it would back up the claims of Quarter 4 2010

I've never known nadeo to go to e3 (or maybe I've overlooked soemthing). At least i don't remember for sunrise or tmo. Maybe TM2 will be a trend breaker :)

as nadeo released every trackmania in either ~2ndQ or ~4thQ, and the fact that pc-games are usually not announced a year prior to the official release (apart from GT5 lol), i tend to believe that they are going to release it in the first half 2010, but i might also be completely wrong :P

To be honest BLaHiTiS i don't tend to follow E3 or anything like that any more but i though about E3 in this discussion and checked the dates, stabbing again in the dark, but seems logical to publicise TM2 before release at such a convention several week/months before final release and the maths would work out rite with the rumour of Q4 2010, but this is not to say im rite by any means, just sounds logical to me

lets hope Nadeo can pop in on this discussion and give us a rough ETA
