How much are you willing to Pay?

Post by AlexKool » 21 Sep 2009 21:39

Touring around different servers and following many conversations about TM2, most people seem to be very exited of the game, though there are a few that think that they will prefer TMUF. [ ]

Now, my question to you guys is how much are you willing to spend on this new trackmania game?

A bit off topic..
Many people seem to be concerned about their current situation for the coming of this new game..
- How will they cope with the gameplay...
- What will happen to their clan...
- Will they still be able to keep their account & server
- All the tracks that they made are lost
and so on...

I think that if players can only get TM2 by paying, there will still be a fair amount of people who would stick with TMF. The big difference between TM2 and TMF is that you can get a full game for free [TMNF] which many players are content with, so unless there is a similar thing with TM2 i think it will take much more time for TM2 to become more popular then TMF.

What are your thoughts?

that TM2 and TMNF have nothing to do with each other, and TM2 can better be seen as a successor of TMUF.

and that those two both cost money, and that i will buy it whatsoever. :1

Nothing to do with each other? Sure its another game, and a different style of racing, but at the end of the day [from what i have seen up to now] TM2 is simply an advanced/better graphic then TMF.

Of course, TM2 will be seen in a very different way, and it will most likely be sold in many more stores then F, but its a very similar game, so it will most likely to attract similar people.

oh sure, but you are not getting my point. TMF and TM2 are similar and the one is the successor of the other, but as you mentioned in your first post. NATIONS forever and TM2 have nothing to do with each other. the one game is free, and the other not. UNITED forever, though, can be better seen as the ancestor of TM2.

i don't expect people who only play nations these days, and don't want to buy united, to buy TM2 anyway. ;)

Or could TM2 be so attractive that even the Nations players could resist?
Blah.. it all depends on the player at the end of the day...

What's the standard cost of new pc games these days, €50? Well, 10% less than that will do, it's what they did with TMU too I think

Even if it's not 10% off, I'd say it would be worth it anyway.

I think about as much as I want to pay for Modern Warfare 2: €40 to €50.

$50

That's as much as I paid for United back when it came out. TM2 looks like it might even be worth more than that. :)

40 or 50 is quite reasonable.
I would pay more if I had too but not be happy about it.
The TM games are still my all time favorite games.

Whatever the price will be of course, but I expect something like 40-50 €, that's quite realistic.
