I was wondering about this question. How are they different? Do you apply a 2D skin to a 3D mode? If so, how?

to explain this:

A 3-d model is an object in a game that you can see all sies of, it can be anything: A car, a box, a bar of soap. However every 3-D odject needs to have something on it to tell the viewer what color it is. You see every object in a game is made of two parts, a #-d Object to give mas, shape and strucure; then there is the 2-D part, that gives color and definition.

If you had a 3-D object into TrackMania with out its 2-D componat then all you would see of it is a solid black 3-D object. But once you add a 2-D componat then you can ass things likes color, and logos, tires with tred, and all the details that make it look like a real world object.
