u must upload a zip file to your webspace and write locator to it.

(southmoon.net do not provide locators at all...)

The cars need to still be zipped as thats what the game uses also for ppl to see them online the best was is use some ftp space and make a .loc file.

The best place to get cars is here they also tend to come with .locs as well. So all you need to do is put the zip and the .loc into your CarCommon folder that should be in mydocuments/TrackMania United/skins/vehicles/CarCommon.

You might need to make the CarCommon folder if you dont have 1

A loc (locator) file is a Notepad text file....read the help files!

1. Save a whole car zip into your TM\GameData\Skin\\Vehicles folder
2. send the whole car zip to a website (you'll have to register for one, if your internet service provider doesn't give you this for free, DOH!)
3. That car hosted on a website now has a location, just like a website.... (DOH multiplied by 2)

Just say you were on AOL (shudder), and your username was : ImLost. Your AOL webspace would be something like this (example follows) -

http://www.aol.com/imlost

Now lets say the car you're trying to use is (example follows) : mycarisbroken.zip

You'd send the car zip to your AOL host, so its full location would be : http://www.aol.com/imlost/mycarisbroken.zip

Simple...this is the car location. Now use Windows Notepad (not Wordpad) and type :

http://www.aol.com/imlost/mycarisbroken.zip

and save it as : mycarisbroken in the same folder as the car (but not in the ZIP!)

Now got to the TM\GameData\Skins\Vehicles using Windows Exploder and look for that text file Notepad just made. You'll find it's called :

mycarisbroken.txt

Left mouse click on it, press F2 key, and rename it to : mycarisbroken.loc

REMEMBER we can only give you examples, you'd have to fill in the parts that are entirely different for your actual webhost, and your actual car zip name. If anyone is confused by that, I despair....try LEGO!

It's not hard at all, unless you don't understand what the word "example" means. Read my post above, it's only 4 steps.

1. Download a car zip to your game folder.
2. send car zip to your own free webhosting service, whatever that might be(example above shows how this might appear if it was an AOL account)!
3. Create a Notepad document with the car's webhosted location.
4. renamed the Notepad "txt", to "loc"

You do more steps switching on your computer and getting here! :roflol:
