Teckmania Forever

This is my third mod. My first mods (they are on a clansite somewhere apparently.... Luther.cz? I have no idea.) were the WireFrame mod and Canyon - both of which were basically just testers as I got to grips with the way the game handled textures - and also for my own skills.

This is my third mod, is about 99% completed, and is my best work so far.

Downloads Update 1 - 30th August, 2008
  1. Finished and uploaded a Teckmania car skins pack. Link at bottom of post.. Please remember to read the ReadMe file in the download ^^. You will also need WinRAR to extract the car zips from the RAR archive.
v1.3 - 15th August, 2008
  1. Added textures for the dirt turbo. Still needs work.
  2. Added new screenshots showcasing the new block textures / some tracks.
  3. Noticed a bug in the Night mood: The cloud colours are the same as the default colours, not the dark blue that the first screenshot (Taken from the old United) show. This isn't my fault, it's a Forever bug maybe. Working on trying to fix it.

v1.2 - 25th July, 2008 (BIG UPDATE.)
  1. Added textures for the roof and glass of the Control buildings
  2. Modified textures for the Domes and Platform blocks
  3. Added and modified textures for the Stadium (Auvent and Support Beams)
  4. Completely remodified the textures of the Inflatable floors
  5. Completely remodified the Start / End textures
  6. Added textures for the Sculpt blocks, and modified the StadiumPillar texture for the big concrete arch block (It looks better)
  7. Added textures for the grass
  8. Added original textures for the StadiumCircuitRoad block.

  • Before anybody asks: The textures for the dirt and dirt blocks are the work of ArNoz, and are imported from his (beautifully done) Alternative Stadium mod. I have edited one of his files (the StadiumDirtToRoad file.... or whichever file it is that controls the transition from dirt to road) in order to bring it to par with the textures I used for my road, but otherwise the textures are in their original form and are entirely his work, and all credit of said textures must go to ArNoz, and not myself.
  • The textures I used for my Sculpture blocks (Modified from the previously transparent textures) was, and are inspired by greenRACER's DDStyle mods. So if you wonder why they look similar, that's why. I hope he doesn't mind that either. >_<;)
  • Feel free to ask me for previous versions of the mod, and for the beta TeckMania Orange mod. (The beta is much different to this.. ^^)
  • Tracks are in progress. The tracks used in the screenshots can be found in the =SAW= server in GBR.
  • I made the file as small as possible, but it's still over 30MB. sorry. =(

Hm. seems to be nice. Cant tell much from that single screenshot though... ill download it today and after i try it ill post some more feedback. ;)

Hm.. Sorry ArNoz.

The truth is, I was never actually planning to use your textures. I'd put them in as a .. I dunno how to put this, a "something to be there whilst I sort out my own textures" thing. I hope that makes sense.

Basically they were just meant to be there on a temporary basis whilst I did my own sand textures but I just found it too difficult to create any good-looking sand textures through Photoshop and I gave up.

So again, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause any offense or get you upset or anything. Like I said, if it really is too much of a problem, especially as I didn't ask you, I'll take the mod down and remove the files. The last thing I want is one of the greatest mod builders to be annoyed at me. ><

@ onejive - The screenshot isn't very good. I need to get on my desktop PC to make some screens but I'm away from home right now. =( it'll probably be at the weekend before I can get any screenshots and I'll probably make an update as I'm trying to get my head around editing the damn blimp skin right now.

I should hopefully be working on the mod tonight to add and update some textures. I nabbed my laptop from home yesterday; it doesn't play PC3 too well but I should be able to at the least get PC2 and I'll post some better screenshots of the mod.

And some tracks, for that matter.

ReadMe has been added to the mod (hopefully - providing it hasn't screwed up on me. Curse SmartFTP)

Also similarly the lights in Sunset and Night should now have a 'blue' glow to them. I got the time to search out and edit that file.

Btw does anyone know how to edit the blue 'glow' that appears at Night? i.e. at the edges of the road over the grid, above the garages, the edges of the circuit platform blocks, etc.

It's bugging me.

Have been working on some cars (I know I said I wouldn't. But I've had plenty of free time to make some.)

Cars are almost finished. Tracks are finished. Will update first post with the screenshots / links / instructions when I get them up.

And feedback would still be appreciated.

Car pack uploaded - see bottom of first post to download.

You'll need WinRAR to extract the cars. Also please read the ReadMe as you need to put the car skins into a specific folder for them to work properly with the tracks and replays I'm going to get around to posting shortly.

The car skins pack includes: 12 original car skins and 6 slighly modified TMU car skins. All car skins are Stadium only.

Feel free to use the cars online, just ask me beforehand if you want to edit them (unlike what I did with ArNoz. =( don't fall into that trap like I did.)

Also still, FEEDBACK. Although I don't want to hear "man, the car quality's sh**." and stuff, because I did most of the cars in the game Painter and that doesn't save them in the best quality.

You can make mods just the same way I did, and that's through using Photoshop and the nVidia DDS Photoshop Plugin to be able to load the game textures and save them.
