Sunrise key for United?

I bought Sunrise a longer time ago and stopped playing it since the cd protection annoyed me and I couldn't be bothered anymore to always find and insert the cd.

Then United came out and I thought giving it a try now so should I be able to play United with a Sunrise key?
Or do I need to buy that game although I technically own half of it already, I wouldn't mind if the other half would just be disabled.

I just don't enjoy the Nations version enough to stick to that and I always prefered the beach cars in Sunrise so I'd be fine if it would just unlock these.

My Sunrise key worked for offline mode though so I'm wondering why it won't work for online mode. I loved playing other's tracks in Sunrise and I miss that as it was always something new.

PS: I tried the search but for "sunrise united" it just told me ignored for being too common, so meh...
