3D-glases

Post by Low_E » 16 Apr 2008 20:50

I just downloaded nations Forever and played it some maps.
I noticed there was a feature mentioning 3D-functionality.
What kind of glasses do you need to see this 3D-function?
A regular one (one blue and one red spectacle?)

thx

good question. I think we need the Anaglyphic type which is the red/blue but I don't know where to get any locally.

You need anaglyphic red/cyan. red/blue may work, too but red/cyan is probably better.

Can someone please post a template on how to "make-your-own" 3d glasses?

Wait, wait... this isn't a joke of some sort? You can actually view the game in 3D...? :roflol:

It isn't. Move your mouse to the top-right when in the main menu. You'll notice a 3D glasses icon.

Anyway, I don't know how the 3D glasses are supposed to work; they hurt my eyes and make everything look a confusing red/cyan... more often red.
The amount of members on this forum which purposely talk "liek dis" surprise me. Honestly, it's not cool.

Just RTFM!

Page 7 of Manual for TMUF:
9. 3D MODE
TrackMania United Forever offers a built-in 3D
function that allows you to switch to a 3D
Display Mode (hence the name) and to take
advantage of an impressive 3 dimensional
depth of field. You must wear the 3D glasses
(red and green lenses) to see the game pro-
perly.
So you will need red/green not red/blue or red/cyan.

Yea the glasses from my Kids Shrek 3D DvD, barely showed any 3d effects, but was neat none the less.
(they are Red/Blue, so I guess I need to find the correct combo)

Red and green lenses?
That has to be a typo; the colours look pretty red and cyan to me.
I used some pieces of red and green perspex I saved for 3D stuff, and it didn't work well with TMUF at all.
Maybe the red and/or green weren't exactly the right shade, but I think they were close enough to get the 3D effect.
I really think this was a typo, and the glasses should be red/cyan.

The game uses red and cyan colors and even Florent wears red/cyan glasses as seen on the pre-release photos.

So this red/green was probably a translation error or a typo.

Something seems to be an error because in the french manual at the same position you can read: (verres rouges et bleu) this mean: red and blue glasses. :ftw: :roflol:

Maybe the person that wrote the original manual is colour blind.
It happens. :)

I use a setup with two monitors, a mirror, and polarized glasses, I need the left picture to be mirrored (so that if I look in my mirror it will be proper).

Will there be support for this? Right now it is very bad because the sun and the brake lights ruin the 3D effect. When there is no sun or brake lights on the effect is good (I am using nVidia stereo drivers.)

This is what I see with no glasses:

This is what I see with my right eye when the glasses are on:

In a 3D program I need the Right output to be mirrored so that I can see the 3D effect. Please let me know if this feature will be added, or if I can configure it manually. Thank you.

There are many different ways to see in 3D, not just shutterglasses or Blue and Red. See http://www.mtbs3d.com/ forums for some of them. Including the iZ3D monitor, and the Zalman monitor. Also Mitsubishi, Samsung and Hitachi have 3D compatible HDTV sets.
