C-07 Race, Need Help

Post by Trackracer11 » 11 Aug 2008 20:26

There are 3 places that the gold zips ahead of me at.

1. The first turn
2. The second turn
3. The turn after you climb up the hill of the S Curves.

Join the club. It seems like forever that I've been trying to beat gold in C-07. Bronze and silver were conquered ages ago.

The dirt track almost always gets me (assuming I don't hit one of the 3 obstacles at the beginning of that section). Just out of curiosity, are you playing TrackMania with arrow keys like me?

I'm not the best driver in the world but I do have an author medal here (a slow, nowhere nere perfect 40.22) and got the gold without too much trouble.
I also use the arrow keys. Maybe not any help, but this is how I drive C-07.

From the start slighty right to take the corner. Remain on the right-hand side of the track.
Stop accelerating and steer left for the left-hand dirt corner. If you time it right the car shouldn't be too high up the bank.
Back on the accelerator. Take the next left-hand corner on the inside and drift slowly outside for the jump.
You should be on the right of the two poles. Take the left-hand corner on the inside whilst still accelerating.
Stop accelerating before the checkpoint (you shouldn't need to brake) and keep pressing left, you should be on the right of the pit.
It may take a while to find the right moment but just after the pit I start accelerating again. Take the obstacles on the left.
Steer right to avoid the side and then stop accelerating (maybe a dab on the brakes).
Steer right in short bursts to take the corner and accelerate just before the apex.
Keep your finger on the accelerator all the way to the finish.
Up through the checkpoint and full speed through the easy lefts and zig-zags.
Steer to the left before the corner (whilst still accelerating!).
If timed right the car should be on the inside of the left hand corner and you should easily make the corner.
Keep as straight as possible, avoid the poles and you should at least make gold.

I had 16.93 at the 1st checkpoint and 25.55 at the 2nd.

Good luck!

Thanks, Rock and Roll. I'll give it a go sometime and see if I can finally beat Gold.

I can hardly believe it but I actually did it! After what must have been hundreds of attempts, I finally beat the Gold Medal time!

I don't think I ever want to see that track again.

And don't forget the Nadeo medals. Those are the ones that really count.

Well, if you're going for 260, prepare to spend a LONG time on the final black track. You might think C-07 was long, but it will take a lot longer just finishing E-05....

C07 is easy, pb is 39:07 but I can go faster
in the beginning, try to get close to the wall in the dirt, then go straight down while turning to get the fastest start possible.
the place where you lose speed the most is the dirt turn after the poles in the middle of the track, I had several moments where i would of gotten a low 38 if I had done the middle better.

c7 isnt bad, im starting to get the hang of this dirt business, like grass with abit more traction.

getting author on every track is (i believe) impossible. the early A tracks i dont think it is actually possible to get it on. it wasnt in nations anyway as you physically cannot do it fast enough.
though i dont know if that is changed now.
good way to know, has anyone gotten author on the first few A tracks?

I just tested the first A tracks, and i dont find it that hard.
A05, may be little tricky cos of some landing bugs. But its
really not that hard. Just find the best route and the good
time will come..
