Try to delete the cache folder. Sometimes server need lot of time to load all cache folder items. {track logos,player musics etc}
And do any server restart each 2 days to clear them all.

Maintenance is the best friend

I think it's not exactly beautiful ... restart every 2 days?
the server is visited around the clock very well.

cache folder contents, I delete every day.

Why not just disable the cache on the server completely?

Look for p2p_cache_size, enable_p2p_upload, and enable_p2p_download. Set the cache size to 0, and p2p settings to false.

If I turn off p2p and cache, we see yet the car skins and avatars?

Yes. Those things will be shared among players. It's just keeps the server from participating in the p2p sharing.

Basically the server will only be serving race specific data, not visually related files.

weerwolf1 wrote:Memory leak? But i never seen this myself with just de server software. In one early stage on xaseco yes, but was solved.
I've now tested everything.
Memory test ....
CPU test ....
HDD test ....
the hardware is running smoothly. So there is no hardware errors.

I have also tested whether the server frees RAM when I kill processes. He does this

My last idea is like you have said a "memory leak" in the dedicated version 19.11.2009.

Now my question ...
@xbx and all other developers
Develops its just at a new dedicated server version?

Or should I downgrade to the version of 25.5.2009?

Thanks for your help

*edit
I've tested it (p2p false and cache 0)
still the same problem continues :?

I have the latest release of this server and I tried to put a manialink in the comment section of the dedicated config, but it doesn't recognize the & symbol in the link - how do I change it so it can be seen ?? (I already have a working link there for something else too)

Heres the link I wanted to put in:

Code: Select all

$l[http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads&archive=1]$w$fffTeamSpeak 2$l
Thanks in advance for any help on this - it seems like it should be simple - but it's really annoying !

Try replacing & with & because dedicated config is a xml file. (Hopefully it gets parsed and replaced correctly :) )

That worked perfectly ! Thank you very much

Its weird tho, cos I have this in the aseco config.xml as part of a welcome message

Code: Select all

$l[http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads&archive=1]TeamSpeak 2 client.$l
and that works just fine.

Ok, now something strange is happening, heres part of my console log :

The weird thing is, its listening for xml-rpc commands on port 5033 but in the dedicated config I have this :

Code: Select all

<xmlrpc_port>5003</xmlrpc_port>
I know I could change the ports in XAseco to 5033 so it connects to the dedicated, but my main concern is why is it now trying to listen on port 5033 instead of 5003 as it has always been ?? AND - how come when its definitely set to 5003, its trying to listen on port 5033 ???

That error occure if the ports 5003 to 5032 are blocked from other applications, as far as I know.
