Try this from a cmd prompt:

net stop dnsclient
net start dnsclient
nslookup game-redirect.trackmaniaforever.com

It sounds like your host isn't resolving names properly, in which case it won't be able to let tmserver find the master server.

System error 1060

this is what i get when i stop dnsclient using the command you gave!!

As the server only came back online about 5 or 6 hours ago, think i might have to give it 24hours before DNS is resolved perhaps?

Sometimes the cmd commands to restart a service don't work too well (depending on security settings)...

Go to the run box and run 'services.msc', and then find the DNS Client service in the list, highlight it, and click the restart button in the toolbar (looks like a stop and play button).

I'd be more interested in your network setup, though... are you on a large network? or a home network?

If you can't even reach Google, another day prolly won't help. I'd contact the datacenter about the DNS problem, either the routing to your box is messed up by the hardware swap, or they may be able to help you get DNS going on your server again.
