[solved] running linux TrackmaniaServer using screen?

Post by ming » 23 May 2009 18:42

i use the codcontrol gameserver webinterface to run different servers like css, cod4 aso... it is basically just a handy start/stop tool with current serverstate information.
the gameservers are run using screen, a program that can run other apps in the background, gives them a pid-file, which is used by the interface to read the state of the process, if the server is runnng or not.

but my problem is that the screen process, when starting a trackmania server, always stops after a few seconds.

my screencommand:

Code: Select all

screen -A -m -d -S Trackmania ./TrackmaniaServer /dedicated_cfg=dedicated_cfg.txt /game_settings=MatchSettings/autosave.txt
the trackamania server logfile does not report any errors, and the server seems to quit right after it sends the "Play signal"!

has anyone else tried to run tm in screen, or are there any special parameters to keep the screen "alive"?

thx in advance
