Serverdisplay and other stuff for CMS

Post by nouseforname » 30 Dec 2010 16:12

hi all,

i want to let you know, i just created some modules for Joomla based web sites as well as Ilch.

Ilch:
- random display of a server status in a box
- display of all servers status in a page
- admin page for add/edit/delete servers and othe rsettings

Joomla:
- module random display of server status in a box
- component, page with all server status
- component for memberlist, member ranking, member online at clan server (incl chat for registered users), server donations
all incl the admin page for add/edit/delete entries

the joomla pages (sample)can be found at http://rookiesforever.de

i dont want to publish the downloads cause i dont have time to really support it atm. just contact me if you want to test it, i will prepare a download pack for you. so we may can find out the bugs, and i may will publish it later if there is any interest.

cheers nouse

Nice work... would love to take a look.

Been a real pain coding server stuff for joomla... Atm, been forced to use a custom code plugin, trying to figure out all the workarounds for the various problems that keep popping up. Never really considered figuring out how to code up a module/component.

Hi,

it would be nice if I can have a look too ;)

And i saw you use Joomla for your clan homepage. Joomla is a cms not made for clans like webspell but you still use it. Can you recommend it or do you say next time we use webspell f.e. ? And do you have already experience with the new Joomla 1.6 ?

best regards, Jojo

there are many cms, also some especially for clans, ILCH is nice and easy for clans, simple moduls, but not easy to get valid code.

i wanted to use Joomla since one year, i like its flexibillity and if you understood the system, its also quite easy to create your own stuff too.

i think all cms do have good and bad points, but my feeling is, joomla is the most known. so you can get more components for it. but i am not pro. just didnt like the other cms i tried.
i didnt try joomla 1.6 yet.

Joomla's pretty middle of the line as far cms's go... It can handle just about any type of site with the proper addons: blogs, clanpages, social networking, file sites, marketplaces, etc. You can tell the various possibilities by comparing my site vs. nouse's -- quite different. Only problem is it takes forever to get perfect, hehe.

Otherwise, I love SocialEngine as most of the community components are built in, but it's not quite free.
