Post by 0x » 25 Nov 2006 17:26

Please, post here your ideas about improvements, which will be good to the next update of TMU. (New things, some improves etc.)
Maybe Nadeo will see our requests :)

My ideas:

+ sending/receiving messages from game (not only in menu)
+ oficial times in custom tracks
+ publication of best times on maniazones.com.

.. will write later my next sugestions ;)
.. hope u guys will help me ;)

You can covert MP3's to OGG and listen to them in the game.

Is this where we should thank the beta players for having found and reported said glitches? :p

as for official times in custom tracks, that's possible now, you just need to add the track to your custom campaign and you can race official on it, though you won't gain coppers from this it's still possible to race official.

You'd probably have to be a bit more precise if you want Nadeo to fix it. If the beta forum was full of posts like this TMU would have been way more buggy than it is now

i dont think there is any need to become more precise. there are lots of reports (from beta and after) of "glitches". nadeo for sure knows about them already and hopefully has a timeslice for the fixes - if not, we probably will not be able to change this.

My wishlist:

A) A better skill-points statistics browser than what we have. For example, for each Naedo track, I'd like to see the total number of times submitted, best time, worst time, average time, etc. I'd also like to be able to see the 50pt, 100pt, 200pt, 400pt, 800pt, ... times for the official Naedo tracks. I might try to reverse engineer the HTTP interface to see if I can generate this offline, but it would be nice to be able to see this in-game on a per-track basis.

B) Similarly for the multi-player ladder, a browser that showed more details (like points per environment) would be nice here. Actually, explicitly calling out the ladder per environment would be good for people who chose to specialize.

C) The analog controls seem a little touchy in Rally and Snow (and perhaps Island, although I like them touchy there), even if I have the sensitivity dialed all the way down. I'm using a Logitech Wingman, FYI. Improvements here would be welcome.

D) Some way to save your puzzle track ghosts and track before you decide to rip it up to optimize it. I don't like losing my great ghost beacuse I move one piece of the track to eek out a few hundredths. I realize there are workarounds I could employ, but fixing the default behavior here would be great.

E) Some way to get replays for the puzzle tracks. The puzzle tracks are unique in that each "replay" comes with its own unique track. I don't think the TMX system is set up for this, and the in-game system has punted here. I agree that there should be a motivation not to give away the "trick" to easily, so it should be expensive to download a puzzle track replay (e.g. 500c), but it seems like some replay engine here would be good to help the people who are truly "stuck".

F) A client-side feature which, when activated, would delay the playback of your competitors to align with your restart. This would make it "feel" like you were racing head-2-head against some people, even though you really aren't (since they may have started 5-10s earlier).

G) A bona-fide chat interface where you can direct messages to individuals, clans, etc. All of the mmorpgs have this -- it seems like it would be good here as well. I know the funky character screen-names might make this a little more difficult, but this should be doable.

H) Some regularly sponsored Naedo tourneys for coppers.

Yeah, that's what I meant.
Lots of the beta glitches still aren't fixed. :(
Like that highlight bug in the editor.
And whatever the crap is going on here O_o

I just have one request:
Please make it possible to set "Opponents maximum count" to 0 - zero, at least when playing in view3.

@ NBAA, I think there should be a system if cars obstruct your view, it would make the offending vehicles invisible until they aren't in the way
