THE DESERT OF TMU FOREVER UNVEILED WITH A VIDEO

Post by Focushome » 26 Mar 2008 10:43

Usually, the numerous beta testers of TrackMania United Forever have to keep secret images and videos.

However, a few weeks before the release of United Forever, we had a crush when we discovered this wonderful video directed by a player called HydroFise. This video beautifully unveils a part of the popular Desert environment which has been reworked graphically, with new blocks of tracks and settings, just like the two other firsts environments of TrackMania (Snow & Rally). Inspired by the first Half Life, this video shows us a gorgeous Desert in TrackMania with its outstanding suspension bridges, its plans of water and an awesome atmosphere.

Cedric you leaker :P .....

*slaps own head*

Yes that's a great video. I like the way the violining guitars demonstrate the roughness and desolation of "deser". Ironicly with the new blocks it had never been a busier environment :)

Isn't it hydrofise instead of Blackshark?

Nice video.
It definitely looks like these new blocks will allow track builders to create a new look for their maps if they want to.

What I have seen from TrackMania's evolvement over the past few years, I'm certain the other enviroments have been reworked as well. I don't even need new blocks so hardly, as long as they remove a few more restrictments...

For the video, I really liked the combination of Electric Guitar Ambiance/Escape Array (as it's called in HL and HL2 OST respectively) with the desert enviroment. Also the fact the track's name is a clear reference to Black Mesa makes it a track that I want to try sometime for certain.

When was Forever released again? :P

Reading between the lines, it becomes very apparent that the other environments have also been tweaked.
If I read it correctly, Alpine was obviously changed the most.
Apparently there are new lava blocks added to that environment.

Ooooooo, you're not supposed to do that...
Just in case -Lr-SadHik hasn't yet, I'm going to tell Nadeo you've been leaking information!
