CARL, LIGN AND GHOST FLY TO SAN JOSE

Post by Focushome » 07 Jul 2008 14:22

This week-end, some of the best TrackMania drivers have battled against each others during the “Mondial du Gaming” in Paris. Official game of the Electronic Sports World Cup, just like Counter Strike, Quake 3 or Warcraft 3, Trackmania offered a fantastic show with high level matches and a crazy atmosphere in the stands thanks to the numerous fans and celebrities from the community who attended the event ;)

The Web One and their magic duet Lign-Carl have made a clean sweep during this week-end.
The France Champion title for Carl after a legendary final in which he faced Ghost. The suspense was has been total during the whole final and until the last second of the last run when Carl finally earned the victory and the only missing title in his prize list, the France Champion title, and of course its ticket to San José to participate to the World final.

On his side, Lign won the Masters of Paris. The power then returns to French guys after Xenogear’s title during ESWC 2007. This one finishes second, only 3 points away from Lign. FrostBeule is also qualified for the ESWC 2008 thanks to his third place and to the fact that Xenogear is already qualified for the World Cup. Moriah unfortunately misses the qualifying ticket to San José.

The main thing to notice is how incredible the scenario was during the very last run : Lign is first with 117 points and XenoGear second with 108 points. Another player has 36 points, which means that this run is for sure the last one and Lign knows that he just needs to finish the race to win the title… but his car goes upside down! He then watches the race finishing while holding his head between his hands, but luckily for him the run is won by Frostbeule, which deprives the rival Xenogear of the victory.

It is the second major title for Lign, after last year’s France Champion title, even if this time it is an international title. Joined by Carl and Ghost, he will be part of the French delegation during ESWC 2008 that promises to be very hot under the Californian sun of San José, end of August.
