Of course, you're running a business so you're probably doing market research and such to make choices, instead of listening to a random poster on an internet forum, but most people still like to give opinions ^^
I am not doing market research, I am mainly taking decision on the feeling I have of what could be interesting and how people "play" Less reading their opinion than more simply observing the situation. Today, half a million people play TrackMania each week. This may be 100 times the first TM. You have site like http://www.trackmania.cl or http://www.trackmania.cn that are new to the community. This is difficult to follow and different from the FragMag time. I am trying to make identity places, and I made more effort for ET over the last year than the first years.

To answer him, I would say that to make the first 7 environments brings a higher percentage of content every time that is new to people. But the 8th environment was less meaningful at that moment. Now, I agree with Zooz. I would prefer one new environment, well done and really modern, than 3 averages. And this is also the reason why I stopped toy and moon. They were going to be forgettable ones and not last forever.

As for the future, we will see. I just think it will be cool to be around. But who knows, maybe Nadeo is a bad company ^_^

Florent knows me, I'm always phrasing things more directly than they're inteded. It was not meant harsh.

And we're thanking you for that! Really! If you want to help us more, I'd have some really cool ideas for ET features :P

I agree on that aspect. I have to say I liked the Moon idea. Could have become cool. Maybe you guys just did not have enough ideas, but hey, that's what a community is for. Ask them, what they'd expect for a new environment, and even if most of the ideas are crap, you'd at least maybe get own cool ideas by just reading it. For Moon I had so many ideas to make a full environment out of it, like the other 7, just get some ideas here, get some ideas there, etc ;) Toy did not have that much potential in my opinion.
Or you could give us the tools to create a new environment with the community ^_^ (<- Hylis-Smiley ftw)

But let's not discuss new environment ideas here. There have been so many threads about this, I'm sure we could find one. It would be quite offtopic here.

i hated the idea of moon, current gravity is just fine

This is exactly why me, as a dedicated Nations player, don't play the TMU environments. And this is also what in my opinion makes Nations superior for competitions compared to the other environments.

But yeah, Nadeo seems to have a thing for very sensitive controllers. Just look at TMNF, where initially I thought the default controls were a bit too sensitive compared to TMN, but when I was going to change it, I discovered that I could only make it MORE sensitive. The default sensitivity was the least sensitive!

Just felt like I had to get this out from my chest.

Oh and I have to agree with Florent about that semi-final (well actually it was the Loser Bracket final) at San Jose; best match I've ever spectated.

for the little story, I had a big discussions during the development of the first TM. I was asking the importance of analog controller, in order to give the same chances to everybody. The fact is that it is over difficult to make a gameplay as competitive at keyboard than with analogue control! This is why I see the gameplay of stadium, not as superior, but one nice piece of work (except for air physics that I don't like too much) It is very very difficult to say if somebody can be champion of the world with a keyboard when you do it... you can not train every time you do a change in it.

Personally ... i allways thought the idea of making it all drivable on keyboard and not on "prescision" equipment is a downturn ...I love the other enviros because of the accuracy needed ... alltho i admire the fact that stadium is more "accessible" of course (i suppose i agree nice work there).

As allways two sides ... i can see both the accesibility verses the specialist approach .. both have pro's and cons .. and to balance them in stadium as you did must have been hard work (and to be congratulated)

I will plug and help ET as much as i can ...I think united tournaments need more support ... and eventually island in the ESWC right?? ;)
