As TrackMania United has just been released in Australia, the first articles are coming out.
PALGNpublished a very enthusiastic preview and 3D Avenue gave a very good score of 4.5 out of 5.

hmm, theres 8000something people registered on the ladder now and i guss a big share of that is french users who bought the dvd, but theres still oppertunity enough for people to buy the downloaded version as well so with X mas I dream of a small boom also :)

And in platform mode you'll need to maintain your speed as you race against time to launch your car upwards towards the finish line.

It would help if they actually played the game

The preview made me remmeber again. Now I can ask. The preview shows one of the preview pictures to show the new lighting scheme in a way without textures. It looks really neat and could be fun to play. Has someone made a mod which essentially just replaced the textures with white or what that is?

That'd be easy to make I'd do it but I don't have TMU only sunrise and nations.

Yeah I know it's an early render showing off the lightmap. But it still looks neat. I know some people without enough space in graphics ram has a game like this too.

Have you thought of just skinning the entire Stadium map white?

lol

I can't wait for TMU next Feb. I'm debating how to get it, as HMV sucks and hasn't even got TMS in ><

The Aus community is small, but we do indeed love the game.
