Alternate menu for United (my photoshop version :P)

Post by Acegikmo » 22 Jul 2006 01:20

As you all have seen the environment menu in the screen here: http://www.trackmaniaunited.com/
I'm going directly to what I want to say.
The menu as it is now, is quite plain, and you can really see nations stick out ;)
So, I thought a more organic menu would show that it's really united.
But you can still separate the games. TMO on the left, TMS on the right, and nations in the bottom.
So, When you hover your cursor over one of them, a bubble in the middle will pop up, showing a bik animated preview of the environment.
Here's my pic:

What do you think? :)

Nice Idea, but still a bit empty to the left and right ;)
a bik playing in the center is also a great idea.

I like when people photoshop their ideas, I did it too in
the United thread :)
Then you know exactly how they imagine the ideas they
describe :D

I agree with zahl about it being a bit empty on the left and right sides. I was thinking maybe if a little bit more of the checkered flag was visible it may solve this. Dunno but everything else looks fantastic. ;)

Yeah maybe they should have a 'select menu layout' page

Since the left and right side is empty, you can select mood on the left side after selecting the environment, and then on the right side you select the mod, if there is one.
Also, i'm not so good with photoshop, thats why the flag disappeared ;)

I would say to put the mods over, the moods on the left, and the map size on the right :)

yeah, forgot mapsize ^^
However, there is only mapsize for TMO, so that means they have to add it to TMS environments, and make 2 new stadiums ;)

Nice screen - anyway - for me this doesnt look "United" this looks like "All inclusive", but still separated.

I'm sorry, but although I agree Nadeo's setup is a bit more boring, at least it allows for more environments than the current ones.
If TMU happens to include a new environment they didn't tell us about yet (not counting on that though), or if they choose to release some kind of bonus pack with a new environment, or a whole new TM game with new environments that integrates with TMU, not to mention the fact that I may want to install multiple mods for each environment, the current design seems to be much more future proof, especially if a scrollbar appears if there are too many environments to show at once.
