Has anyone in North America been picked for the beta or is it going to be Europe only?

Hello
I informed about the open beta too late.
But I heard, that there will be 4000 new testers soon.
Will the registration open again, or the 4000 new testers will be selected from the already registred users?

sure, any tmn track can be used in tmunited. The only problem you'l experience is that when the checkpoints didn't respawn you in tmn, some tracks might be broken in the way that you'll always have to start at the beginning cause the builder didn't consider respawn...

your tracks need to be put in c:\documents and settings\youradminname\My Documents\Trackmania United rc3 (i think) /GameData/Tracks/Challenges

I know it's been thrown around, but has anyone gave us concrete evidence as to if Stadium is still going to be free? And will there be an upgraded version if this is the case? I ask because I just read where someone said it was going to be Febuary before the US gets it.

I thought for a second and stated, "That's not true, I like Trackmania too."

Personally this is what I'd like to see in a Demo/Free version

-Full Stadium race game, all pieces and different skies.
-Limited Puzzle and Platform modes for Stadium
-Ability to edit and create tracks for stadium
-Able to earn full masterpoints during multiplayer racing
-Able to earn coppers from Single player game
-A few select races from each environment, yes all 6 of them for the player to get a taste of each car
-Able to play the selected tracks in Multiplayer from the 6 environments
-Ability to paint all 7 cars and save your own skin
-Ability to participate in all ManiaZone and ManiaLink stuff. (even the myspace thingy page, that way people will feel more compelled to possibly buy which will earn them more respect on their page possibly?)
-Able to retain saves/coppers/masterpoints etc when installing the Full version

I'd imagine it would be a sizeable demo, but most demos are getting pretty big these days.

I have no doubt there will be a lot of players that will only play the demo/free version because it has a lot of content, but there is a good chance a lot of those players will be young kids who can't exactly go out and buy a legit copy, older people that don't have a lot of time to spend on gaming and will just enjoy the casual few moments playing a game they like, and yes there will be the cheapskates who won't ever buy the full game anyway. But its not like its detracking from sales having a good demo, each person who has now enjoyed the game will tell others, which in turn will promote them to getting the demo, and out of this new set of players you may have potential buyers.

How many of us at times have played through a demo, thought it was too short and it didn't give you a real sense of the game so you didn't really give purchasing the final game a second thought? Now how many people do you know that have gotten into Nations and becuase of that are now fairly keen to get TMU? I can name 3 people already that I work with who got Nations due to me pimping it and will most likely be buying TMU when it hits the shelves.

I always strongly believe a good full demo, that you can continue to play and always be entertained by something new, will win the hearts of many players. I'll give you an example of other companies that released massive demos. Battlefield1942 (not BF2), Unreal Tournament 2k4, Half-Life1, etc. All these demos were full of content, and it attracted a lot of attention from people who would not normally give the game a second glance. I bet many of you could think of other games that had big interesting demos that drew you into it or friends into it, thus a purchase was made, or you followed the series and when the time was right you were able to buy a game. :D

Sunrise had a pretty big demo too, and no one ended up buying the game cause of it.

Well, don't see these acoounts as "yours", they are test accounts so Nadeo just cleans up the database and recconects to the production version of the software, the maniazones site etc...

This is really stupid.
At first I didn't get a key and now I've got two.
One from the German DeepSilver Board and the other by email.

edit: OK forget it, no quiz.

thats kinda silly... sorry...

why you dont give the key to someone that actualy does something usefull with it.... like testing a server or writing a script or is a good track builder...???

i even could give you a name(you might know him yourself).... so if you want, donate tha key to BlueBottle from dac clan.... he works on server scripts, has a Server and his TMUb3 key expired last night.....

...sry, a givaway like the one on your blogg is not a nice thing for a beta.....
