  • admins can pose as users to easily find out if they have access to a board they're not supposed to
  • v-bulletin-esque built in panel for moderators
  • V-bulletin style control panel for the users.
  • modular control panels to add new features in the future easily

i'm running beta 5 on the testsite now, there seems to be a few glitches like, some mods that wern't adopted and i'm playing a bit with the "humbnail support "for user foto's ..

But i'm not ging to put it on this space untill it's final..

But it looks already great, you can actually throw spammers in the bot usergroup which is actually a "lock the door and throw away the key" kind of group for bots...

Moderators can set individual situations for each users as they see fit to prevent them from doing stuff etc.. It already looks cool but it's just the default template, ofcourse

Also, if you guys have some ideas for ranks :) ... You can try to come up with some cool TM-themed rankings :)

Yes, I suggest the first rank would be "booster" hehe.

Anyway, glad to hear that a new forum will be done and really magnificant that you will get rid of bots ^^

A+

It's unbelieavable.

You have a new feature that's able to prune users and their posts.

I can actually shrink the database to 1/4th of what it is now :).

- I deleted users that wern't active after july 2006 (without deleting their posts
- I deleted users that wern't active after december 2006 that had 0 posts)...

The database shrunk from 7700 users to 1730.

From those users, we are sure tha they are actively posting...

(ofcourse this is a test case, i didn't do that here,)

Also when a human spammer would register and change his nick all the time (i think i' m goin to disable that feature) and post everything the same time, one can now instantly delete users and posts with 2 clicks :)

I would hate every forum that would delete my user account, just because i wasnt active for 7 months, or didnt post the first 2 months.

Gotta agree, the margins need to be more loose - its not unusual to have lurkers over long periods. I'd suggest pruning those who hadn't logged in at all in the last 9 months ...

LOL, i'm going to organize a vote for that ofcourse, and it's definitely not going to be that date.. I've seen users being deleted who are maybe long time TM fans and even I would know how that feels. For a true fan of tm it's different yes.

I've noticed myself that the first 6 months of 2006 I didn't play much TM except for nations maybe. BUt I would always visit the forums now and then.

But to have more than 3000 users who didn't visit after june and who have 0 posts: there will be alot of spambots between those.

I thik even when I clear users from befor january 2006, this would be a very realistic deletion. Those users don't really care anymore.

The board admins can also choose to simply deactivate those users not delete. It's something we have to see
