I think you can't send the key to another player, and you'd have to have access to the beta forum also to fully cooperate in the beta.

So I suggest waiting these 4 days till the full release, it's not so long ^^

OK, one very important question because of which I can't sleep ( :P )

Ever since TM:S, the game is very laggy when I open the scoreboard (hold TAB)
on a server with more than 20 players, its like the game freezes for maybe 1/4 sec
every 3 or 4 seconds, until I release TAB.
I had this issue with my old 600MHz Athlon and a Gf4200, and now with
a C2D with 2Ghz and a Gf8800. Same behaviour in TM:S, TM:O, TM:N and
TM:U... Well, it wasn that bad in the TMs before United, because you were just
looking at the scores when you weren't driving. BUT, in TMU its the same thing
for the Manialinks all servers use to display records etc. I have a slight lag everytime
the display updates. Just showing a static mainapage doesn't do any harm, but when
it gets updated it again hangs for a short second. So practically, servers that update
the information frequently (because they have a ranking and there are like 30 players
on the server) are unplayable for me. It feels like playing the game on a 66Mhz PC :D
The strange thing is that not everybody has this problem, a frind with nearly the same
hardware doesn't have any problems, while other people do. I don't know how many %
of players experience these problems, so maybe its only a few and Nadeo doesn't know
about the problem.
So, since this was never solved in any of the previous TM games i have only little
hope it will change this time, but still... I just had to ask now. Can maybe someone
who was Betatesting the game say something about this? Of course, if you didn't have
this problem before you can't say if its gone, but if ANYBODY knows what I'm talking about...
Thanks :1 :gobananas:

No, I don't think it will be fast.
You know how it goes when a new game comes out and everyone wants the torrent?

You end up with 20 people having it and about 2000 trying to download it. Assuming that the 20 seeders have very fast connections (1MB/s upload) and don't limit their upload, each leecher will end up with a download speed of 10KB/s. Now that is the best situation possible. And it'll probably be much worse.

I see you have an intrinsic understanding of how BitTorrent works.

It's peer-to-peer for a reason - each peer also provides the parts it already has, so the more the seeders (which are nothing more that normal clients that had the whole file to begin with) distribute their content to other peers (assuming that those want to get the whole file and thus will stay online until they have it) you get more and more partial seeders by the minute, speeding up the process as a whole.

well i dont think torrents is the best way to start off... but inevitably i think it will be torrented... although i beta tested and played a game (voyage century online) which was available in about 9 or 10 game download sites (such as file planet).. and torrents... i found that the torrent was much faster... but i agree with people not seeding and limiting their upload... it would be very annoying!

I know that.
But what I also know, is that leecher always cut down on their upload to get a higher download speed. So effectively, the leechers don't add that much.
Even if you add the upload leechers provide it would only work out in an optimal situation. And I've never seen an optimal torrent in my life. :P

Normal TMN and TMU servers will be running for a while after the release.

As for TMU this is just a patch nearly all players will be expected to upgrade quite early so the TMU standard server will only be up for a while after release.

The TMN master server will be up for quite a bit longer, or at least as long it is viable (number of users vs bandwidth needs from the other games.)

I hope this clears up this point.

oh and > np: Underworld - Mmm Skyscraper I Love You (DubNoBassWithMyHeadMan) Good tune and great album, though my favourite song from is Cowgirl. :)
