TrackMania for the Wii

Post by Zooz » 30 Jun 2009 16:41

I found this video: http://www.jeuxvideo.com/reportages-vid ... rs-pas.htm
Can't find any other info though.

Can't say I saw this coming, I'm surprised they were able to port it to such a major console, considering the fact that Nadeo is pretty small.

The physics seem to be different, considering how that Rally car handles in the vid, and the jumping of that Coast car. It looks more like how the DS game handles really, and that's not a good thing.
Still, too bad I don't have a Wii then

Wow, it's the real thing... I guess NADEO changed their minds again (The first time being with TM-DS)...

It's too bad the physics engine seems to have suffered a lot... I wonder why they couldn't port the PC's physics? They must be much more complicated then I'm thinking...

I wonder if this is going to be the second game I buy for the Wii XD... (Hopefully it has online multiplayer)

if it has, don't expect anything fancy. Wii is known for its very limited online mode.

Well isn't it up to the developers how they want to set it up? Or does Nintendo regulate games to make sure they aren't too good :P

At least the good news with the console version is that the graphics, while compressed, will still look decent on there, and will be automatically set (one presumes). I'm about 3 years behind the front in PC gaming, and that's WAY back in these terms...

:grmblz: :grmblz:
I'm playing TM for a few years, and that release of TMDS was fine, but, didn't Nadeo ever say that they don't want to make an console version of TM?
I'm very dissapointed that TM is coming for the Wii. I don't have a Wii, and I thinks lots of poeple whose are plaing TM for an longer time and play TMUF, don't have a Wii too. The DS version was right, because so everyone can play TM on the go, and who haves no NDS? (Most of you have it only for Brain Training  ) And if you don't have, you can buy one for less than €130,-. A Wii costs €250,-, way too much for the most people who don't have one, or for whose who already have an PS3 or X360.
Why on an console, and why is Nadeo not coming with an new TM for the computer? I think that TMDS shouln't had to be released. Because it was an succes, Focus/Nadeo wants more. They had to let TM be an computer only game, and not an handheld or absolutely not an console game.

I hope you'll understand.

Nadeo, I'm very, very dissapointed. Why had this to be happen?

I don't think this is aimed towards the people who regularly play it on the PC... I think it's more for the people who haven't even heard of it (Or people who don't have a fancy graphics card :P).

I live in America, and I've never met a person who knows what TrackMania is... so hopefully this will introduce this great series to this area, because almost everyone owns a Wii here for some reason...

EDIT: By the way... the game doesn't only have the environments shown in the video right!?...

Why ? PC is "home" platform for TM that's for sure. These conversions can bring easy money to Nadeo and that's what we want, right ?

Also I read that it will support any of the MarioKart Control schemes... well.. EXCEPT the GameCube Controller. Which is the best way to control MarioKart.

I really don't see why.. Since if this is infact the case, I will not buy it.

Wait what? That's the most basic control style... how can they take it out?? I don't have any other way of controlling it so I guess I can't buy it... I really hope they add it in later...

(By the way, where did you read this? I'd like to see the article.)

EDIT: Never mind, I found it.

Hmm, but I can still buy an Wii for it, but if Nadeo and Focus make an PS3 or X360 or any other console version of TM, I'll get angry. 1 console ok, but 3 is too expensive!

its uncertain if nadeo produced it... The are the original developers and by looking at the video it looks more to firebrand that made the game.
