Hi, i have a problem when i try to connect to an internet server.

I get a the following error message: Unable to contact to server. Conection failed or could not contact (Error 10060)

I'm in my town's wi-fi intranet. I know that some actions or programs (like using e-mule) are disabled in this net.

Could this be the problem?? Does anybody know with the error appears?? I wold like to know if there is any particular port that should be open to play.

Thank you.

Which port is needed for the connection to the master server? I ask this because i get this error when i start my linux server 2006-04-25 with my iptables script enabled:
Connecting to master server...
...ERROR: not connected to internet
But this ports are open in my firewall script:

2350 udp&tcp
3450 udp&tcp

so i think there is another port needed... Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for an reply.
Just for information, i've solved my problem above with this iptables rule:

iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --sport 443 --dport 35532:35555 -j ACCEPT

TMN seems to read your systems settings concerning the proxy! Although "Use Proxy" is not ticked! I'm using Proxomitron for filtering out unwanted ads and I had to create an exception for * Is there any way to make it connect directly? I believe it would react faster if connected directly.

Good day,
TMN works fine for me at home, but im in university how having some troubles naturally enough.
What proxy does the tick box take under the settings? Is it your default internet explorer one?

I have http tunnel also, which could work but I'm not sure how to configure it with TMNs, anyone got TMN running behind a firewall & proxy?
Thanks for your excellent response in advance!!

2 Problems

Post by djguess25 » 11 Jan 2007 13:00

Hi There All,

1st Thing: I cant seem to get into any servers on TMN. I can connect to the ladder, see servers in the servers window, but when I try to connect I get the error msg can't connect to servers or disconnecting (10065). I play this game at home but here at work I am behind a firewall and proxy. I'm almost sure its not the firewall but something else. I can create a server but I dont know if it works. So all I wanna do is to connect to the servers so I can play pls.

2nd Thing: At home again I'm trying to set up a server but can't, I get the msg of that I'm on a private network and my NAT needs to be configured. I have read this forum from A-Z to find the solution. I tried portforwarding but still didn't work and I cant seem to find NAT Loopback on my router, so now I dont know if I hav the option. I hav a Microcom 2636 USB ADSL router. Will someone pls help me?????

djGuess?

I don't have a problem connecting, but for opening ports on my router (so my skins show), what do I do in TMN-> Config -> Advanced -> Network -> Force Server Address.... when I have a dynamic IP

I am trying to use this method for TrackMania Nations Forever. I can't access my router settings, so I tried the method for users without a router. I successfully completed every step leading up to the part involving running the actual game. TrackMania Nations Forever seems to exclude a network settings area. Would my current situation enable server hosting, or is there something I am missing?
