TRACKMANIA ON PSP
I hope this is the appropriate place to mention an idea, if not then tell me where. Wouldn't it be a great idea if Trackmania games where on the PSP instead? UMDs can hold 1.80 gigabytes-you could probably fit TM United. Ad Hoc and Infrastructure online modes allow for flexible and awesome online play-race those near of far. The control layout of the PSP would be perfect for Trackmania as well. Any questions or comments?

May I ask what the "Laughing out out out loud" is about? The PSP has everything required to run any Trackmania game. The graphics would possibly be better, it's a smaller screen. If you disagree, tell me why, and I'm speaking to everyone.

Re: TRACKMANIA ON PSP
Well, it might have something to do with the fact that the entire game will have to be rewritten (4 years of stuff), and with a team of ~10 developers that just isn't gonna happen for such a small userbase as the PSP has. There are many more people with Windows PC's.
And look at the specifications of that thing...
32 mb memory: TMU needs 256 at least I believe
333 mhz CPU: TMU barely runs on 2000 MHZ
And TMU needs a decent graphics card too...
Summary: No way

Re: TRACKMANIA ON PSP
When a game is on a smaller system, it requires less. The PSP is extraordinarily compressed; Test Drive Unlimited has 70 songs, most of which are 6 minutes long, 40x40 mile free roam, about 50 cars and multiplayer. And guess what? Atari compressed it into a UMD with space to spare. It used up 1.70 gigs out of 1.80 available on the UMD. If Test Drive Unlimited can do it, Trackmania can! I'm not saying United has to be on there, but they could worsen the graphics a bit, as they don't have to be as impressive. Do you have a PSP by the way?
Re: TRACKMANIA ON PSP
The PSP doesn't have a small userbase, there's millions of users. Haven't you seen the sales charts? The PSP is the most successful portable gaming system ever due to the fact that the release of the PSP Slim hit a record high! There's more PSP's out there than anything else because it is a portable Playstation 2.

Doesn't the DS sell better than PSP?

Maybe, but there are a lot more than just millions of PC's that can run TMU.BJK wrote:The PSP doesn't have a small userbase, there's millions of users. Haven't you seen the sales charts? I'm sure they can compress it but that's completely irrelevant, HD space is not all there is to running a game. As I posted above, the PSP is way weaker than the minimum specs of TMU. TDU has a huge developer company and lots of money behind them with which it would be no problem to rewrite the whole game to work on the PSP, but the 10 people at Nadeo probably have other priorities.BJK wrote:When a game is on a smaller system, it requires less. TMU would also have to be changed to use PSP's operating system which is probably not Windows with DirectX but something different. A big company like Atari might have the resources and knowledge to do so, but I doubt Nadeo does.
Re: TRACKMANIA ON PSP
Windows 95 can be on the PSP with Direct X, but that's beside the point. Tell me, what is Nadeo working on that they can't recreate a game? It would be worth it, there's no PSP games at Scholastic, that's the only place I can find Trackmania. The PSP recently bumped up in sales. I'm typing this post on a PSP.

On TM? They're always working on TM, except when they're working on Virtual Skipper. Now it's probably TM Forever, after that probably a TMU expansion.

Re: TRACKMANIA ON PSP
I think Nadeo would be very sucessful and rich if they made PSP games instead. Games from them are exactly what the PSP need. I'd buy every game that says Nadeo on it.

I think Nadeo would die instantly.
Number of PSP's sold: 25 million, since 2004
Number of PC's sold: 68 million, IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS

Where did you first find Trackmania?
Re: TRACKMANIA ON PSP
That's not a fair comparison. Compare the PSP to something of its size.Zooz wrote:I think Nadeo would die instantly.

Re: TRACKMANIA ON PSP
Well it is, TM is currently available on PC and therefore to that many people. If they were to make it for PSP, there would be 25 million potential customers, with PC, many many more. I don't see how it's an unfair compare, and as PC is currently the only platform TM is avaiable on you can't compare it with anything else anyway.
