A few TMU groups will be deleted
Hi all,
For your information:
We will delete a few old TMU groups within the end of the day. Some old groups have been created in ManiaZones with missing information. For example, there was no moderator for the group, which caused problem to administrate it. From now TMU groups won't be validated with missing information.
Regards,
Alinoa

some people are misguided in their preception of "pit crew". They are volunteers and not really working for nadeo or something

That's quite wrong, it just shows that the person does lots of good stuff for the community, it doesn't give any extra mod powers or rights over a normal account.

Re: A few TMU groups will be deleted
moreover, I've been nagged in private lately about "can i join pitcrew". Some people with 0 posts came ask me to have the orange color, but that's not what pitcrew is about, it's not about distinguishing between people.
Then I always have to make it clear that I've kinda brought this group to life really as a "honorary ribbon", for people who are already doing long term tasks out of their free will for this community. Contribution is the keyword here as well. This can be technical contribution by programming, or psychological contribution for being a "sage of the comunity" like there's a category on the french forum", I kinda stole the idea from there. There's "pit crew" from all aspects of the game, mod making, dedicated server, TM wisdom, tech support (that almost inevitably goes with the territory of the people who do dedicated server stuff)
Some care a bit less than others that they are in that group, they would do it anyway and that's the point.
The pitcrew group color is the policeman's cap, the steward's uniform, the fbi man's badge, the ... well an "identification".
Which ofcoruse don't give other people the prorogative to constantly nag them in private. Please treat these people well by asking things in public like you would normally do
About their increasing chance to join a beta test ? Each group on the forum has chance to become beta tester (except for the bots

You're not alone.MrA wrote:At first I thought the P was a ?

As a matter of fact, I although I figured about as much on the whole "Pit crew" deal, I never connected the "?" image to the textual message also there.
I figured it was some kind of... well, truthfully I wasn't curious enough yet to think about it that much.
